The 5th Sunday of Easter
The Fifth Sunday of Easter invites us into a deeper trust in Christ, who is our way, our truth, and our life.
In John’s Gospel, Jesus speaks words of comfort to anxious disciples, assuring them that he goes to prepare a place for them and that his presence remains with them always.
Acts gives us the witness of Stephen, who, even in suffering, sees the glory of God and entrusts himself fully to Christ.
Psalm 31 echoes this trust with its plea, “Into your hands I commend my spirit,” a prayer of surrender and confidence.
And 1 Peter reminds us that we are living stones being built into a spiritual house, chosen and precious in God’s sight. The mood of the day is one of courageous trust, steady hope, and belonging — a reminder that Christ is our sure foundation and our unfailing guide.

Generous God, whose way is love, whose truth is searching, whose life is freely given in Jesus Christ our Lord: as you have opened for us your house of many rooms, so may we make a place for the rejected and unloved, and share the work of peace; through Jesus Christ, the image of God. Amen.
