The 3rd Sunday of Easter
The Third Sunday of Easter invites us into the quiet, unfolding recognition of the risen Christ. On the road to Emmaus, two disciples walk in confusion and sorrow until the stranger at their side is revealed in the breaking of the bread.
Acts proclaims the power of repentance and new life made possible through the risen Lord.
Psalm 116 gives thanks to the God who hears our cries and delivers us from death.
And 1 Peter calls us to live with reverence, hope, and sincere love, grounded in the imperishable word of God. The mood of the day is one of awakening, recognition, and renewed purpose — discovering that Christ walks with us even when we do not yet see him.

Collect
O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
